Finally it is almost here, my story of surviving Internet Defamation and Invasion of Privacy.
On September 1st, Google Bomb, The Untold Story of the $11.3M Verdict That Changed the Way We Use the Internet will be on book shelves and online - giving you the inside - and backside of my landmark case.
The reviews and endorsements have been explosive! Click here to read them.
As the defendant is now being forced into involuntary bankruptcy, my story will help those that are feeling helpless and powerless to cyber slander - and hopefully give you the power to fight back and rise above Internet Defamation. Google Bomb will offer practical guidance to help you maintain your online image.
Even if you feel since you don't use social networking such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter etc.... remember, you are at risk too - someone may take it upon themselves to create their own vision of "you".
Free speech is something I believe in wholeheartedly, however it does not condone Internet Defamation.

Sue Scheff: Landmark Internet Defamation Case Goes to Collections
Free Speech will not condone defamation - and once a judgment is filed (and as in my case, domesticated) moving forward to collections is the next step. A jury awarded me over $11M in damages ($5M of it is for punitive damages) which is not dischargeable in bankruptcy count. As you have read in my previous posts, we are now in this process and I will keep you posted on the details.
The defendant will be held accountable - after both being denied to have the judgment set aside, the defendant is now facing wage garnishment, possibly personal or involuntary bankruptcy and others means of collections.
To learn more about this case, you can pre-order my new book - Google Bomb - now available for pre-order on Amazon. I believe my case is the beginning of many more - my advice, think twice before you post!

Sue Scheff Proceeds with $11M Judgment for Internet Defamation and Invasion of Privacy
For those that still are convinced that if you nothing to lose (financially or morally) - you think you have no worries as you continue to defame others online -think twice. Life as you know it can become extremely stressful - now that I have the domesticated judgment for $11.3M - an examination under oath is being scheduled for the defendant.
If she chooses to be not 100% truthful, there are many legal ways to determine the truth and what assets have been transferred to avoid being ceased.
Garnishment of wages will be included and I am confident many people in today's times would not want to be part of this.
The moral of this is - be careful what you type online - it may not only come back to haunt you, but it could definitely cost you! With today's recession the last thing you need is a judgment for any amount.
Free Speech is still alive and well - but it will never condone defamation!
Google Bomb, my next book will fully cover this subject!

The Internet: Is it being used as a WEAPON?
It seems Internet Harassment, Online Slander, Cyberbullying and other abuses in the World Wide Web is growing! I am contacted on a daily basis from victims of today's newest lethal & legal weapon to harm others - keystrokes!
You have to wonder what possesses people to feel the need to hurt others so malicously. With all of today's critical issues such as hunger, the war, homeless people etc.... We have a new group of people that simply have too much time on their hands - and take pleasure in hurting others. E-Venge seems like a good name for it. If you think about it - it is a cowardly act. They hide out behind their computers and just strike their keypads - usually anonymously.
Read through this Blog and you will see that free speech is still in place but it will not condone defamation.
Blogging is fun, the Internet can be educational - but remember, what you post today can come back to haunt you tomorrow. And could be costly to you!

Sue Scheff: Surviving Internet Defamation, Cyber Slander and more...
“A Successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him” - David Brinkley
For those that know me, know that I have been the target of the most vicious and malicious attacks in Cyberspace. Fortunately I was able to fight back and won an unprecedented jury verdict for damages of over $11.M. $5M of it was set for punitive - meant to punish the defendant.
I am contacted on a daily basis from other victims of Internet Harassment and most people are unable to retain an attorney. It can be very difficult when it seems like the entire world is staring at you through their computer screens.
The quote above was sent to me and I just felt I had to share with everyone. So when those bricks are being thrown at you through cyberspace - think about the great foundation you can build from it!

Sue Scheff: Free Speech does not condone defamation and slander
It seems the more vocal you become, the more you are attacked.I know that is true in my case, but it won’t stop me from working towards change in the Internet World where people think Free Speech has no limits.
I am a firm believer in Freedom of Speech - I fought and won two jury trials in regards to this very subject. Now I will continue to make positive changes within the Cyberspace community.
More and more attorneys are becoming familiar with the laws and the laws that need to catch up with the change. More and more lawyers are offering to take these cases on contingency - which is a great change.
I recently meet with a Senator and Congresswoman I feel confident (as they do) that there will be a lot more media attention, legal action and more positive movement in this arena to protect people from becoming caught in the net.
As a victim of Internet Defamation as well as a focus of some people’s obsession, it is all giving me the strength, power and resources to combat people who want to continue their campaign to ruin myself and others, through new legal resources that have opened up with the vast media attention.
Are you being harmed on the Internet by malicious attackers?
